The State Office of Industrial Property signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with FITD

Today, the State Office for Industrial Property signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Fund for Innovation and Technological Development. The purpose of this cooperation is to encourage and promote domestic companies that have innovative inventions as well as to introduce businessmen to the meaning and value of the protected product.

"We want to introduce domestic companies to the importance of protected products, ie protected patents, trademarks, industrial designs, geographical indications because they not only strengthen the competitiveness of the company but also increase its reputation through which the company proves its technical capacity, inventiveness,  and expertise in the area in which the company operates," said Goran Gerasimovski, Director of the State Office of Industrial Property.

Gerasimovski also stressed that SOIP is a strong partner of innovators, which constantly patents and promotes their products but also encourages new innovative solutions important for the whole society.

The cooperation between the two institutions will be realized through a series of activities aimed at encouraging innovations and their protection, exchange of information, knowledge, and experiences, participation in working bodies and training, workshops, and promotions.

"I expect that such cooperation will contribute to raising awareness of the need to protect innovative products and services of Macedonian companies, as well as the benefits arising from the acquisition of protection.  "With joint efforts, exchange of information, and ideas, we will enable Macedonian innovators to succeed and become more competitive in the domestic and foreign markets,” said Kosta Petrov, Director of FITD.

The signing of this Memorandum is aimed at promoting and raising awareness of strengthening national industrial property systems in order to guarantee, protect and use industrial property rights.
