Within the framework of the activities for marking the 25th anniversary of the establishment, the State Office of Industrial Property on October 18th organized a Conference on the topic: Transfer of Technology and Intellectual Property Rights in the Republic of Macedonia.
The conference was opened with the speech of the Minister of Economy, Mr. Kresnik Bekteshi, followed by the speeches of Mr. Safet Emruli, Director of SOIP, Zeljko Topic, Vice President of the European Patent Office, Ms. Silvija Trpkovska, Representative of the World Intellectual Property Organization and at the end of the first part of the conference, Mr. Goran Gerasimovski, Deputy Director of SOIP, presented the Monography for 25 years of the Office.
After the welcoming speech, the conference continued with its working part, at which the following 4 presentations were held:
- Best practices, challenges and opportunities for promoting the transfer of technologies and innovations - Mina Nikolova-Kress, Coordinator, European Patent Office
- Specifications of technology transfer in the IT industry - Gjorgji Filipov, First Director of SOIP
- WIPO Tools Kit for Academic Institutions - Silvia Trpkovska, Senior Program Officer, WIPO and
- SME support instruments in Macedonia for innovation and technological development for increasing their competitiveness - Bisera Jordanovska, Fund for Innovation and Technological Development
Otherwise, at the conference, besides the representatives of the regional national offices for intellectual property, also, were present over 120 representatives from all stakeholders of the Intellectual Property System in the Republic of Macedonia.
